1813 - The Russian Campaign fails.

Russia and Prussia agree on an armistice. (Konvention von Tauroggen). Prussia breaks its alliance with France. Beginning of the "Befreiungskriege" - Wars of Liberation.

 

Due to the failed Russian Campaign and the enduring Guerilla-War the French troups are decisively weakened.  
  Sharpes Enemy

 

Wellington marches to the French border and defeats the French at Vitoria and at the Battle of the Pyrenees.

Finally, the French Invasion-army retreats back to France, with Wellington always at their heels.

 

 
  The Battle of the Nations at Leipzig ends with Napoleons defeat.

 

 

Sharpes Honour

The newly promoted Major Sharpe mourns for Teresa, when he falls a victim to a French intrigue.

The French spy Helene, married with the Spanish general Marques Mendora, sends her husband a defaming letter. According to her words, Sharpe tried to rape her.

Mendora and Sharpe fight a duel. When Mendora is killed in the following night, Sharpe is accused of the murder and sentenced to death.

Now, only the Marquesa can save him...
